Closed Meeting 5/20/24

The Board of Commissioners intend to meet in closed session following their May 20, 2024 town meeting to discuss applications for current job openings. The authority for meeting in closed session for this purpose is Maryland Code Annotated General Provisions Article 3-305(b(1), which authorizes the Board of Commissioners to meet in closed session to “discuss the appointment, employment, assignment, promotion, discipline, demotion, compensation, removal, resignation, or performance valuation of appointees, employees, or official over whom this public body had jurisdiction; or any other personnel matter that affects one or more specific individuals.

Water Main in your house or residence

The Town of Emmitsburg is requesting your help with identifying water service line material that provides potable drinking water from the water main to your house or residence. The Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCCR) was established on January 15, 2021 to address lead contamination in water. As part of this rule, an inventory of all water service lines must be compiled for the service area. This is an unfunded mandate required by the State of Maryland. The purpose of the inventory is to track the system’s progress toward an eventual full lead service line repair, as well as to inform the public about which category of service line is delivering their water. Your assistance will help the Town compile its inventory safely, and effectively. The location of your water service is typically found coming through the basement or foundation wall closest to the street. However, some locations vary. Please locate the service line pipe material coming through the wall or foundation and circle the appropriate pipe material photo below. The Town of Emmitsburg greatly appreciates your assistance.

Water Bills Due

05-17-2024

Just a reminder for anyone that has not paid their March 30^th quarterly water, sewer and trash bill, payment is due no later than 4pm on Monday, May 20^th. If payment is not received at that time, you may have your water shut off and assessed a $100 disconnection fee.
