The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will make roadway improvements on US Alternate 40 (Old National Pike) between Middletown Parkway and Fern Lane, a span of one mile, in Middletown, Frederick County next week.  Starting Monday, March 25, at 8 a.m., crews will close one travel lane and use a flagging operation to maintain two-way traffic. Crews will work weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. until expected completion in April, weather permitting.

Contractors working for Shentel will be installing Glo Fiber along Main Street/Alternate 40 from Cone Branch Drive to Middletown Parkway, Cone Branch Drive, Foxfield Pass, Manda Ct. & Dr., Caroline Drive, Linden Blvd., Locust Blvd. & Ct., Broad St., Walnut Pond Ct., Franklin St. and Holter Rd. beginning Thursday, October 5, 2023.  Property owners in the affected area should have received door hanger notices from Shentel/Glo Fiber regarding the planned work.
