Great food and stunning building! Very friendly staff and nice bakery selection. I recommend the breakfast sandwich. There are a few improvements I would suggest however:The cashier should never be making customers drinks. They should be solely focused on serving the checkout. The line moved very slow. Lack of staff perhaps? If so that's understandable. The tables should have condiments and napkins on them as well as silverware.

My sister, our mutual friend, and I had never been to Brunswick, Maryland, which sits on the banks of the Potomac River, so we thought we'd check it out. We enjoyed walking around the town and finding local crafts to buy. I had already picked Beans in the Belfry for dinner because they offer live music on Friday nights. Reviews said that their food is good. Now, we can say that we agree, after trying their salads, sandwiches, and desserts (including a lava cake with the best chocolate filling I've had). Besides the cafe's cozy interior, what stood out to me is the Beans in the Belfry's commitment to providing space for local musicians, and music lover in general, to do sets on Friday nights, and improvise during open jams on Sundays. They also encourage other groups to use their space (check the Beans in the Belfry website's calendar). On October 13th, the featured Friday night group was the Tone Plus Trio, which includes a guitarist, drummer, and trumpet player. There is a lot of experience and talent in this trio. Their focus is jazz-inspired music, and it sounded to me like they are practiced in improvising. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect spot than Beans in the Belfry for spending a relaxing evening, enjoying good food, and talented musicians at an incredibly affordable price. We plan to return.

This place has the best atmosphere among the cafes I've recently visited. It breaks my heart that the old church has been turned into a cafe, but the atmosphere of the church has been preserved and maintained. Everything from the old music, the warm atmosphere, and the taste of the coffee is perfect. It was a cafe that made me feel cozy. I will visit again with my whole family.

A bussin coffee shop whose drip is just right. The coffee is fantastic, but what makes this spot so dank is the fact that it is inhabiting an old (1910) Reformed Church - it's awesome! There is tons of space to chill with friends; a special spot where children play; tables and a chairs in the upper gallery; stained glass windows; suvineers - everything you need for an bomb coffee shop stop. You won't be disappointed!!!

Located in C&O Canal, this place is one of more unique cafe I've been to. It's an old belfry building converted into cafe space. Stained glass windows around the place adds to its character. Interior was well thought out and use of church pew was a nice touch.I think their latte was lacking in the foam, but overall the flavor was good. While coffee was just "OK," their sandwich however was amazing. I got their Tuscan and it was simple but very flavorful. I like how they kept it simple.
