4th annual New Media & Technology Conference
presented by the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce


Join us for our nationally-recognized educational conference on social media and other business technology. Discover new tools and strategies that you can put to work immediately! The day kicks off with a networking breakfast, and wraps up with a fast-paced closing session. In between, expand your knowledge with informative breakout sessions and hands-on workshops, led by expert presenters.

SESSION RATINGS



This year’s conference includes seminars and workshops for local professionals with a variety of job functions within a wide range of industries. Each session is rated according to experience level:

E – Everyone (Beginner): Minimally geeky content is suitable for all audiences. No pre-requisites.
M – Moderately Geeky (Intermediate): Some material may not be suitable for Non-Geeks.
X – X-tremely Geeky (Advanced): Non-Geek must be accompanied by Social Media Geek or Geek Guardian.

Register online to reserve your spot and select your sessions. Your registration is NOT complete until you complete your session selection form online. Trustees and Sponsors: Please call 301.662.4164 x1 to register using your sponsorship benefits.

Hands-on Lab Workshops are limited to 10 participants. Breakout Sessions are limited to 30-50 participants. REGISTER EARLY to make sure you receive placement in your first-choice sessions! Sessions, presenters, and other conference details are always subject to change. Updates will be posted on this page.

The following registration fees include breakfast, lunch, and all conference sessions:

  • Chamber Members: $125 per person
  • Chamber Member Nonprofits: $110 per person
  • Closing Session Presenters: $110 per person
  • Non-members: $225 per person
  • Members of Partnership Organizations: $145 per person
(Partner organizations include: Downtown Frederick Partnership, Emmitsburg BPA, Frederick County African-American Chamber, Greater Brunswick Area Chamber, Greater Mount Airy Chamber, Mid-Atlantic Hispanic Chamber, Middletown Area Chamber, Middletown Valley Business Association, Walkersville BPA)

During this fast-paced session, 10 presenters will tell us about their favorite niche networks and emerging technologies. Each speaker has only 3 minutes … Don’t blink, or you might miss these great apps, including: Mr. Number Call Assistant, Square, and Instagram.

Have a favorite app you’d like to share? If you’re selected as a Closing Session presenter, you’ll qualify for a discounted rate on conference registration! Pitch your topic by sending an email to Jessica: jhibbard@frederickchamber.org.

Directions:

From Baltimore:

Take I-70 W to EXIT 54- (Rt 85, East St, Buckeystown, Downtown Frederick). Bear left at light onto Rt 85 S. At the intersection Rt. 85 & 355, turn left onto 355 S. Go 1.5 mi., turn right onto Holiday Drive. At traffic circle, proceed to the third exit (Spectrum Drive). Mount St. Mary's will be the first building on the right.

From Washington DC and Northern Virginia:

Take I-270 N to EXIT 31A (Rt. 85 North, Market St.) At the first light (Spectrum Drive) turn right. Proceed along Spectrum Drive to the traffic circle and take the second exit. Mount St. Mary's will be the first building on the right.

From Leesburg, Virginia and Maryland south of Frederick:

Take Rt. 15 to Rt. 340 N. Take I-270 S to EXIT 31A. Follow DC directions.

From Gettysburg, PA:

Take Rt. 15 S and bear left onto I-270 to EXIT 31A. Follow DC directions.

From Hagerstown, MD:

Take I-70 E to EXIT 54. Follow Baltimore directions.

From Downtown Frederick:

Take Market St. (Rt. 85) S toward Buckeystown/Urbana. At traffic light follow Rt. 355 S. Go 1.5 mi. Turn right onto Holiday Drive. At traffic circle, proceed to the third exit (Spectrum Drive). Mount St. Mary's will be the first building on the right.
