Speaker: Dr. Ben Carson renowned Pediatric Neurosurgeon and New York Times best-selling author remarkable journey from tough, inner-city youth to history-making neurosurgeon celebrates and illustrates the power we all have to excel and influence others.
As the son of a single mother in a tough urban neighborhood, Carson was running with the wrong crowd and failing in school—and feeling as though he had no way out. He could easily have spiraled downward, but he chose another path. Driven by a passion for science and helping those less fortunate, Carson pursued medicine and ultimately became one of the most respected neurosurgeons in the world.
His riveting presentation inspires audiences to take charge of their lives, no matter what obstacles confront them. Soft-spoken yet charismatic, Carson commands the stage. He captivates people with a compelling presentation that shares the keys to turning great challenges into still greater triumphs. Carson had to take his own advice recently when an aggressive form of cancer struck, and his focus turned to survival and recovery. It was just the latest chapter in Carson’s life, once again proving the power of the determined mind.
