Frederick has added a new sports team to its roster! Learn about the Flying Cow's recent MOOOOOVE into to Frederick and how it already has forged partnerships with area businesses to bring semi-pro basketball to Frederick! The Flying Cows are one of 37 teams in the TBL (The Basketball League  https://lnkd.in/ez7R9Cn6). The league is just a notch below the NBA G league and offers an alternative opportunity for players who want to play professionally and be seen in the United States, rather than going to Europe or Asia. Professional basketball has officially arrived in Frederick, MD ‼️🏀 Frederick TBL is a brand new (soon to be named) professional basketball organization that will play it’s inaugural season next year in The Basketball League. The first pro hoops team in Maryland in +20 years! The team was officially announced to the Frederick community earlier this week via press conference at Hood College (The future home of the team). With dozens of community leaders, media members and future fans in attendance to welcome the team, speakers included: Hood College President - Andrea Chapdelaine The City of Frederick Mayor - Michael O'Connor Frederick County Government, Maryland Executive - Jessica Fitzwater The Basketball League President - David Magley Team Market Owners - Anthony Mazlish & Michael Witt Head Coach - Ed Corporal Player - Tavares Sledge General Manager - Chris Jenkins Rooted in the spirit of community, competition, and excellence, Frederick TBL aspires to not just win games, but also win hearts and make a positive impact in the Frederick community while changing the pro basketball landscape!
