About Anchor Bar: On March 4, 1964, Dominic Bellissimo was bartending at Buffalo’s now-famous Anchor Bar when hungry friends arrived. He asked his mother, Teressa, to whip up a snack. She deep-fried chicken wings—then considered scraps—and tossed them in a secret sauce. They were an instant hit, soon earning a permanent spot on the menu. Teressa’s creation, the original Buffalo Wings, sparked a global phenomenon. While many have tried to replicate them, Frank & Teressa’s secret recipe remains the key to what’s hailed as the “Best Wings in the World.”
