Perimenopause affects millions of working women, often during the same years they are stepping into senior leadership roles, managing teams and contributing some of their most valuable experience to their organizations. Yet it remains one of the least understood and least discussed workplace issues.
Join Dr. Rachel Mandel, board-certified OB/GYN physician executive, and Amanda Haddaway, HR consultant and Certified Menopause Coaching Specialist, for a candid, practical conversation about what perimenopause really looks like and why it matters at work.
Combining medical expertise with a workplace and human resources perspective, Rachel and Amanda will explore the physical and cognitive changes that can accompany perimenopause, including sleep disruption, fatigue, brain fog, hot flashes and other symptoms that can affect confidence, wellbeing and performance. They will also examine what happens when these experiences are misunderstood or overlooked at work, from disengagement and performance concerns to lost leadership talent and avoidable turnover.
Most importantly, this session will move beyond awareness to action. Participants will learn how employers and managers can create more supportive workplaces without becoming medical experts, making assumptions or crossing personal boundaries. The discussion will include practical strategies for flexibility, benefits, workplace accommodations, manager education, psychological safety and more productive conversations about performance and support.
Whether you are navigating perimenopause yourself, leading employees who may be experiencing it or simply want to build a workplace where women can continue to thrive throughout their careers, this session will provide information, perspective and practical tools you can use immediately.
Participants will leave with a better understanding of:
- What perimenopause is, how it differs from menopause and why the experience varies so significantly among women
- How common symptoms can show up in the workplace and sometimes be mistaken for performance, engagement or capability issues
- The potential impact on retention, leadership pipelines, employee experience and organizational culture
- What managers should and should not do when an employee may need support
- Practical, often low-cost workplace strategies that can make a meaningful difference
- How organizations can begin normalizing conversations about midlife health while respecting employee privacy and individual choice
Perimenopause is not simply a women’s health issue. It is a talent, leadership and workplace issue, and understanding it is becoming an increasingly important part of building workplaces where experienced women can continue to contribute, lead and succeed. Register today!
